Namen diplomske naloge je predstaviti ljudsko glasbo in poznavanje prekmurskih ljudskih pesmi in instrumentov. Naš cilj je bil raziskati prepoznavanje prekmurskih ljudskih pesmi in vidno ter slušno prepoznavanje instrumentov pri učencih 4. in 5. razredov prekmurskih osnovnih šol. Ugotovili smo, da je prepoznavanje prekmurskih ljudskih pesmi dokaj slabo, prepoznavanje instrumentov dokaj dobro, tako slušno, kot vidno. Najbolj se prepoznavanje med učenci razlikuje glede na šolo, ki jo obiskujejo, manj glede na razred in spol. Rezultati so nam tudi pokazali, da učenci najbolj poznajo pesmi in instrumente, s katerimi so se srečali v šoli. Rezultati te raziskave nas lahko vzpodbudijo, da naše mlade generacije aktivneje seznanjamo z ljudsko glasbo, tudi izven šole, da jo bodo poznali do te mere, da jo bodo sposobni tudi sami prepoznavati. The folk music legacy of Prekmurje is a topic that is not well researched, or the dates of publications are very old. The purpose of this diploma paper is to introduce the folk music and to research how well children know the folk songs of Prekmurje and the typical folk instruments. We conducted the research in the 4th and the 5th classes in primary schools in Prekmurje, where the children had to identify the song and the instrument on the audio and visual basis. We found out that the children do not recognise many folk songs however, they can recognize the instruments, both on the audio and the visual basis. The differences in the successfulness of identifying depends more on the school, which the children are visiting, than the class or the genre. The results show that pupils know those songs and instruments the best, which they have met at school. Thus these results should encourage us to introduce folk music to our younger generations in a more active way, in and outside school, so the student get acquainted with the folk music to the point where they will recognise it on their own.
