Description
Summary:How does the religious education constructs in Iceland in the elementary schools and how does headmaster, teacher and pupils there talk about the subject? What is their attitudes towards the subject? These questions is central to the studie "Fallstudie religions ämnet i Island och ungas attityd gentemot den". The purpose of the studie was to investigate some main issues that creates the subject of religion on Iceland and to get a view over young peoples attitude and feelings against religious education and the subject of religion at school. The background is that the society at Iceland seemed to be very influenced of Christianity even though they are not any longer that homogenious. The material for the studie was based on qualitative interviews with relevant for the work persons and interviews with teacher, headmaster and pupils at one elemantary school in Reykjavik. The studie also depends on the earleir studies of mainly two studies, Sigurdsson Kirkja og skoli á 20. öld (2008) and Gunnarsson I dont believe the meaning of life is all that profound (2008). The essay shows that the subject of religion at the interviewed elementary school at Iceland is very influenced of the Christianity. But the schools in Iceland are now in changes because of the new schoollaw that came 2008 and the new curriculum that is now forming.
