Description
Summary:Dec.26 2022 updates: update the script for Fig.5e with a file name 'plot_5ev2.ncl'. There is no change in the result data. We just slightly change the way to present the vertical bars in FIg.5e for the final artwork. See details in the article. --- The package file contains the data and NCL scripts used to produce the original figures of Fig.1-6 in Zhang et al. 2022 Arctic AR. Data files are in NetCDF format. The script files are supposed to be conducted using the analysis tool NCL (https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/) on a Linux cluster/environment or Mac terminal platform. Download the zip file and unpackage it (unzip data.zip). Note that 400mb space is needed. Keep the data files and scripts in the same folder. The figures in data/orignalFig/ were produced using these NCL scripts on Cheyenne, NCAR's HPC cluster. 1. get the NCL installed. On an HPC cluster with NCL installed, one may use "module load ncl" to load the ncl. Version 6.5.0 or later is needed. 2. go to the unpackaged file folder and then run scripts using a command like: ncl plot_1c.ncl to produce the figure1c in eps format in the current folder. Other figures can be reproduced similarly. Some analysis information can be found in ncl scripts. Open ncl scripts using "vim" command (e.g., "vim plot_1c.ncl").
