Description
Summary:This report is the output of the International Council for the Exploration of the Seas (ICES) Workshop on Potential Impacts of Climate Change on Atlantic Salmon Stock Dynamics (WKCCISAL) that took place 27–28 March 2017 at ICES Secretariat in Copenhagen. The main aim was to provide the scientific basis to respond to a request for advice from the North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization (NASCO). With changing climatic and oceanic conditions, there is potential for effects to be reflected in salmon feeding, growth, survival and migratory routes. WKCCISAL aims to review predicted climatic changes over the distributional range of wild Atlantic salmon as well as literature and research on the biological and environmental drivers that affect stock dynamics. The present report summarizes current knowledge of ongoing and future anthropogenic climate change (CC) and its associated consequences on Atlantic Salmon Stock Dynamics.
