Description
Summary:The record of 'Libellula virgo' in south-western Greenland by O. Fabricius in the 1770ies is reassessed. It is inferred that the specimen was most probably a female Calopteryx maculata. Morphological characteristics presented by Fabricius are com-pared with those of similar species from continental North America that might have reached Greenland. Origin and transportation of the specimen by accidental wind drift are discussed in some detail.
