Title in decorative cartouche with putti, various animals including lizards, snakes, bats and a turtle. Maritime map of the North Atlantic centered on the Gulf of Mexico, the Florida peninsula and islands of the Caribbean including Central America, east coast of North America and the north coast of South America. Map is embellished with three compass roses, five ships, rhumb lines, and includes two decorative scale bars flanked by putti with measuring tools. Valk and Schenk acquired plates from Jansson's Atlas Novus around 1694 and issued this map separately. The publisher's added their imprint to Jansson's map of 1636 and added grid lines.
