Ege bölgesindeki jeotermal kaynakların akuakültürde kullanılabilirliği
In this study, the usage of the geothermal sources in Aegean region has been evaluated in aquaculture. According to the aim of the study, the growth and survival rates of eel (Anguilla anguilla, L. 1758), common carp (Cyprinus carpio, L. 1758) and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus, L. 1758) have been d...

Additionally; several tissues of the fish have been evaluated accumulation of heavy metal and histopathological changes because of the environment of geothermal water. At first; the eel that average live weight was 35.58±5.7 g. has reached to 52.06±9.23 g.; the common carp that live weight was 59.34±8.61 g. has reached to 98.59±8.41 g.; the tilapia that average live weight was 6.6±0.48 g. has reached to 15.09±3.1 g. at the end of the study. Specific growth rates (SGR) of the eel, the carp and the tilapia were calculated as 0.85, 1.36 and 0.63 respectively; feed conversion rates (FCR) were calculated as 2.4, 1.89 and 2.3 respectively. Survival rates of the fish also calculated and according to results they were found 83.3% for the eel, 53.3 % for the common carp and 80.95% for the tilapia. The heavy metal content of the geothermal water was determined lower than the acceptable values except iron and boron. When the tissues of Anguilla anguilla and Cyprinus carpio evaluated, it has seen that some heavy metals like Fe, Zn, B, Cu, Hg, Pb, Cd and As existed but the values were lower than the international limits. As a result, especially Anguilla anguilla and Cyprinus carpio could be consumed as human food.
