La presente investigación se realizó en la Clínica Veterinaria “Huellitas” del cantón San Miguel de Bolívar, fueron intervenidos 30 pacientes caninos, de diferentes razas, edad, sexo y condiciones corporales. Se practicó cirugías de esterilización como son: Ovariosalpinghisterectomía y Orquitectomía, posteriormente se aplicó agua ozonificada en la herida suturada y ésta fue cubierta con apósitos y esparadrapo microporoso. El agua ozonificada aportó mayor cantidad de oxígeno al tejido estimulando la oxigenación tisular, transformando adecuadamente la glucosa e incrementando su accionar, mejorando de este modo la circulación sanguínea, lo cual desencadenó en una cicatrización rápida y eficiente. En síntesis podemos decir que la aplicación de agua ozonificada resultó de gran ayuda en el proceso de reconstrucción tisular, podemos enunciar varias características favorables como su acción bactericida, viricida, fungicida y antiparasitaria que evita el desarrollo de bacterias y todo tipo de microorganismos causantes de infecciones en heridas y que retardan el proceso de cicatrización consiguiéndose resultados a los 4 días en pacientes de sexo masculino y 6 días en pacientes de sexo femenino This research was conducted at the Veterinary Clinic “Huellitas” which is located in San Miguel de Bolivar where 30 dogs were operated .They were patients of different races, age, sex and body condition. Sterilization surgeries as Ovariosalpinghisterectomia and orchiectomy were performed, then ozonized water was applied to the sutured wound and it was covered with dressings and microporous tape. The ozonized water provided more quantities of oxygen to the tissue. It stimulated the oxygenation transforming the glucose adequately and increasing its action, thereby it improved the blood flow which trigger in rapid an deficient tailing. In short, we can say that the application of ozonized water was of great help in the process of tissue reconstruction by its favorable characteristics as its bactericide, viricide, fungicide and antiparasitic action which prevents the growth of bacteria and all kinds of microorganisms that cause infections in injury and delay the healing process. Consequently the result was the wound healing by first intention of orchiectomy in 4 days postsurgical and 6 days in wounds of ovariosalpinghisterectomía
