This present research analyses the long-term hydrological data and the features of the ice drift on the average Lena for the period 1990 to 2016 with the Landsat 5 TM, Landsat 8 OLI and Sentinel 2 MSI remote sensing data. The best methodology for the recognition, extraction and mapping of the water flooding is based on the MNDWI water index. MNDWI water index was used to map the flood areas and limits from Tabaginsky cape to Kangalassky cape.
