| Summary: | [Resumen] Este trabajo pretende estudiar el desarrollo del transporte marítimo en la región ártica. A lo largo del trabajo estudiaremos las implicaciones que trae consigo dicho desarrollo, desde la legislación que nace a partir de las nuevas rutas marítimas árticas, hasta los posibles efectos que puede tener sobre el Ártico un derrame de hidrocarburo procedente de los buques que navegan por sus aguas. Por otra parte, nos centraremos también en las posibles técnicas de lucha y su viabilidad para hacer frente a un derrame en un entorno como el Ártico. Analizaremos además, cómo está afectando el cambio climático al Ártico y la incidencia que esto ha tenido y que tendrá sobre el transporte marítimo. Estudiando la viabilidad de sus rutas, tanto el Paso del Noroeste como el Paso del Noreste, y el impacto que estas tendrán sobre el medio ambiente. [Abstract] This project aims to study the development of the maritime transport in the arctic region. Throughout this paper we will study the implications that bring such development, from the legislation that arises as a result of the appearance of the new arctic routes to the possible effects that a hydrocarbon spill may have on the Arctic. Moreover, we will focus on the possible techniques and its viability to address a spill in an environment like the Arctic. Furthermore, it will be analysed how climate change is affecting the Arctic and the incidence that this has had and will have on maritime transport. We will study the viability of its routes, both the Northwest Passage and the Northeast Passage, as well as the impact they have on the environment. Traballo fin de grao (UDC.ETSNEM).
