PERSISTENCIA DEL CUARTO ARCO AÓRTICO DERECHO EN PERROS (CANIS LUPUS FAMILIARIS) Y ANOMALÍAS ANATÓMICAS ASOCIADAS

La persistencia del cuarto arco aórtico derecho se considera una de las anomalías anatómicas más frecuentes en la formación de anillos vasculares. La estructura de este tipo de anillo está conformada por la arteria aorta originada a partir del cuarto arco aórtico derecho junto con el tronco pulmonar y el ligamento arterioso izquierdo. Los casos que se describen en este estudio corresponden a este tipo de anomalía, los pacientes fueron diagnosticados y luego sometidos a tratamiento quirúrgico para corregir el defecto vascular. Durante el acto quirúrgico se observó la formación del anillo vascular, el cual comprimía el esófago y la tráquea. Adicionalmente, se pudo observar megaesófago (craneal al corazón), la presencia de una vena ácigos izquierda y la formación de bandas de tejido conectivo alrededor del esófago como anomalías anatómicas asociadas. La vena ácigos izquierda no fue seccionada porque no causó compresión esofágica en ninguno de los casos. Los hallazgos coinciden con lo reportado en la literatura y refuerzan la teoría de que este tipo de anillo vascular es el más frecuente. ABSTRACT Persistent fourth right aortic arch is considered one of the most frequent anatomical abnormalities in vascular ring formation. Structure of this type of ring is formed by the aorta originated from the fourth right aortic arch, pulmonary trunk and left arteriosus ligament. Cases described in this study correspond to this type of anomaly, the patients were diagnosed and then underwent surgical treatment to correct the vascular defect. During surgery, the vascular ring observed, which compressed esophagus and trachea. In addition, megaesophagus (cranial to the heart), and presence of a left azygos vein and the formation of connective tissue bands around the esophagus were observed as associated anatomical abnormalities. Left azygos vein was not sectioned because it did not cause esophageal compression in any of cases. These findings coincide with that reported in the literature and reinforce the theory that this type of vascular ring is the most frequent. Key words: Right aortic arch, vascular ring, esophagus, dog.
