The occurrence of this exotic ammonite in the anglo-Paris basin, which itself belongs to thenorth european province of the boreal realm, is linked to an overall rise of the sea level (transgressive interval of a third-order eustaticcycle superimposed on a second order cycle). It is probably a shell that drifted post-mortem to Europe. This discovery allows to clarifythe correlations between the northern european and arctic provinces of the boreal realm. Gastroplites cantianus Spath, 1937, une ammonite appartenant à la province arctique du domaine boréal, est décrite dans l’Albiensupérieur de Wissant, Pas-de-Calais (Nord de la France). L’arrivée de cette ammonite exotique dans le bassin anglo-parisien quiappartient à la province nord-européenne du domaine boréal est mise en relation avec une hausse globale du niveau marin(intervalle transgressif d’un cycle eustatique de troisième ordre superposé à celui d’un cycle de second ordre). Il s’agit probablementd’une coquille vide entrainée post-mortem par flottaison jusqu’en Europe. Cette découverte permet de préciser les corrélationsentre les provinces nord-européenne et arctique du domaine boréal.
