None of the fish samples analysed presented metal concentrations exceeding the limits fixed by the legislation. To asses the potential health impact, the estimated weekly intake was calculated. The estimated weekly intake (Hg: 1.05 μg kg-1 b.w.; Cd: 0.28 μg kg-1 b.w.) was far above the established Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake for this species.
