In Paris, they just simply opened their eyes and stared when we spoke to them in French! We never did succeed in making these idiots understand their own language." We all, as Dr. Chisholm explains, enjoy telling people how they should behave, and the bigger and stronger and richer we are, the more we feel suited to the task, the more indeed we consider it our duty.
