Using Bayesian modelling, subtle differences in age and duration of occupation are apparent between find-spots, and for the first time it is possible to demonstrate the occupation of two areas (Cheddar Gorge and the Wye Valley) as beginning before the sudden warming of the Lateglacial Interstadial. We associate a Final Magdalenian (‘Creswellian’) with this recolonisation and show that this technology had a longer time-span than has previously been allowed—lasting through most of Greenland Interstadial 1e (Bølling).
