Economic relations between Normandy and Andalusia in the 16th century

The commercial relations between Andalusia and Normandy were based on the exchange of raw materials and Spanish agricultural products against Norman industrial products, especially textile, destined for trade with America. These exchanges intensified throughout the 16th century, despite wars. In the 1570s, the salt trade went through a growth phase to supply the French Atlantic façade and the fishing boats that head towards Newfoundland. The Spanish merchants based in Rouen play an important role in these relations, although not essential, since the Normans are also very interested in this trade. Las relaciones comerciales entre Andalucía y Normandía se basaban en el intercambio de materias primas y productos agrícolas españoles contra productos industriales normandos, sobre todo telas, destinados al comercio con América. Estos intercambios se intensificaron a lo largo del siglo XVI, a pesar de las guerras. En los años 1570, el comercio de la sal conoce una fase de crecimiento para abastecer la fachada atlántica francesa y los barcos pesqueros que se dirigían hacia Terranova. Los mercaderes españoles afincados en Ruán jugaron un papel importante en estas relaciones, aunque no primordial, ya que los normandos estaban también muy interesados en este comercio.
