Description
Summary:The item is in good condition. There is discoloration of the paper of a yellow, brown hue. There are several small holes in the top, left corner of every sheet. Each piece of paper has two long creases across the paper, dividing it into three equal sections. The letter is off-center, causing several words to be cut-off by the right edge. The letter is typed in black and signed in blue ink. Vavra's footnote is typed in black ink, on the last page under the signature. A letter from James A. Michener to Robert "Bob" Vavra responding to his request to photograph Michener in another country. Michener shares his thoughts and memories of seven different locations that have become very dear to him; Bora Bora, Hawaii, Israel, Africa, Balkans, Scotland and Norway. The letter is signed "Jim Mich". In a footnote at the end of the letter, Vavra notes that a phone call inviting Michener back to Bali decided the location for them.
