| Summary: | Blueprint. This is a blueprint of a map drawn by Lewis B. Hatch showing the area around Wilmington and Fort Fisher as it appeared in July 1903 and the positions of naval and land forces at the time of the attack on the fort in January 1865. The map was prepared under the supervision of Colonel W. J. Woodward, commander of the Cape Fear Chapter of the United Confederate Veterans. A Note in the lower right of the map provides information on the number of men with the various regiments and the names of the officers inside the fort during the attack. This map was formerly classified as M.C. 99-D. |
