Description
Summary:Map shows creeks, rivers, and the boundaries of the townships: Tuckahoe, Cypress Creek, Beaver Creek, Trenton, Pollocksville, and White Oak. Originally drawn by Jos The North Carolina Constitution of 1868 required counties to "divide . . . into convenient districts, to determine the boundaries and prescribe the names of the said districts, and report the same to the General Assembly before the first day of January, 1869" (Article VII, Section 3). The Public Laws of 1868 further specified that "a map and survey of said districts, when truly completed, [shall] be filed in the office of the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of each County and the Secretary of State" (Chapter 20, p. 25).
