All of these are narratives rootedin the land, reflecting the indissoluble society-nature relations among the indigenouspeoples that articulate in multiple forms and meaning of time and space. The symbols, techniques, and methods of the inscription in the materials analyzeddemonstrate the complex development of social relations present in the different modesof production that exist to this day. The meanings and metaphors of historical or contemporaryrecords are presented in Mesoamerican code or in original codes and languagesfrom the thought and philosophy of the peoples that result from the juxtaposedethos of power-resistance relationships in differentiated ways, which intertwine withthe evolution of the so-called maize civilization all the way to the political-culturalcomplex of current transitional societies. This paper focuses on understanding the process of space-thinking from a criticalperspective considering the old and new forms of territoriality and the reconfigurationof the nations facing capitalism and political strategies. The former defines the transformationof cultural practices over the territory in contexts of conflict and the exerciseof sovereignty and self-determination of first peoples in a world of intense social movementsand changes in local, regional and global political structure with porous, mobile, permeable, symbolic centers and borders that provide material elements to the internationaldivision of labor on strategic territories. The paper concludes with the depictionsof space that arise not only from the State, the monarchy, or the entrepreneurs, but alsofrom the first peoples themselves.
