Kje je meja? Sprejemljivost starostne razlike v romantičnih razmerjih

Ali je starost res samo številka in ljubezen edina stvar, ki je v razmerju pomembna? Tudi barva, regija, jezik in vera so zgolj identitete in ne smejo povzročati ovir, dokler obstaja nesebična ljubezen med dvema osebama. Toda ali lahko dva človeka začneta in vzdržujeta razmerje s precejšnjo starostno razliko? Cilj raziskave je predstaviti moralo zahodnega sveta, ko prihaja do romantičnih razmerij z veliko starostno razliko. Ali takšne zveze podpiramo? Kolikšna razlika v letih se nam zdi sprejemljiva? Se nas bolj dotakne, če srečamo par, kjer je precej starejša ženska, ali kjer je starejši moški? Kakšne so glavne pasti takšnih zvez? Na ta vprašanja sem poskušala ugotoviti z analizo antropoloških in komparativističnih del na temo etike in morale, da bi razumela, kaj moralo družbe sploh določa. Uvid v to, kakšne pomisleke ima družba, so mi podali štirje sogovorniki in sogovornice, ki so v zvezah z veliko starostno razliko. Predstavila sem tudi romana Bralec in Lolita, ki izzivata, da se glede teme moralno opredelimo tudi sami. Is age just a number and love the only thing that matters in a relationship? Colour, region, language, and faith are also mere identities and should not be barriers as long as there is selfless love between two people. But can two people start and sustain a relationship with a significant age difference? The aim of the research is to present the morality of the Western world when it comes to romantic relationships with a significant age difference. Do we support such relationships? How much of an age difference do we consider acceptable? Are we more affected if we meet a couple where there is a much older woman or where there is an older man? What are the main pitfalls of such unions? I have tried to answer these questions by analysing anthropological and comparativist works on ethics and morality to understand what defines the morals of society in the first place.
