Pogreb kulture: gentrifikacija in uničevanje avtonomnih prostorov na primeru Tovarne Rog

Diplomsko delo skozi različne teorije pokaže gentrifikacijo kot izrecno negativen proces, preko katerega se mesto socialno, kulturno in politično prečiščuje. Postavi jo v kontekst neoliberalizma, skozi katerega mesto postane razumljeno kot podjetje, njegova destruktivna, avtoritarna in represivna tendenca pa se pokaže tudi z gentrifikacijo. Kultura, ki na takih gentrificiranih območjih nastaja, je podrejena tržnim mehanizmom, vse kar pa ni družbeno in ideološko ustrezno pa mora izginiti. Avtonomni prostori so pomembni braniki vseh teh, ki se jih izrinja iz mestnega prostora, samonikle, nepodrejene kulture, družbenokritične misli in političnega (samo)organiziranja, a so hkrati ves čas tudi sami podvrženi gentrifikacijskemu procesu. Diplomsko delo se postavlja na stran odrinjenih in na primeru nedavno eviktirane Avtonomne tovarne Rog pokaže destruktivno osnovo gentrifikacije. Skozi kombinacijo avtoetnografske metode in kvalitativnega intervjuja razkriva zgodbe oseb iz rogovske skupnosti in njihovo pozicijo znotraj avtonomnega in mestnega prostora. Fokusira se na doživljanje poskusa evikcije leta 2016 in dokončno evikcijo v letu 2021. AT Rog vseskozi postavlja v opozicijo neoliberalnemu opustošenju družbe in avtoritarizmu oblasti. The thesis, using various theories, shows gentrification as negative process that cleanses the city in terms of culture and politics. Gentrification is theorized in the context of neoliberalism, which conceives of the city as an enterprise. The destructive, repressive and authoritarian tendencies of neoliberalism are shown through the process of gentrification. The culture produced in such gentrified zones is subjected to market mechanisms, while what is socially and ideologically unsuitable must disappear. Autonomous zones are conceived as important bulwarks of all those displaced by gentrification, of self-produced and non-subservient culture, critical thinking and political (self)organising. This thesis stands with all those on margins, and shows the destructive power of gentrification through the case of recently evicted Autonomous Factory Rog. Combining autoethnography and the analysis of qualitative interviews, the thesis reveals the narratives of people from the community, their position in autonomous spaces and within the city at large. It also focuses on their experiences from the eviction of Rog, attempted in 2016, and the realisation of the eviction in 2021. Autonomous Factory Rog is seen as resistance to neoliberal devastation of society and authoritarian forces.
