[cat] Durant l'any 1994 es va realitzar un seguiment del període reproductor del virot (Calonectris diomedea) a la colònia més important de l'illa de Menorca. Els principals paràmetres reproductors són molt pareguts als de les colònies d'aquesta espècie de la resta de la Mediterrània i demostren una alta sincronia en la reproducció. Les mitjanes més importants han estat: posta 24 de maig; incubació 52,6 dies; eclosió 17 de juliol; abandonament dels polls 3,9 dies; vol dels polls 9-15 octubre. No s' han detectat postes de substitució. La taxa d'eclosió ha estat del 86,7 %. Les interrupcions de la incubació han estat poc freqüents. Encara que s'hagi detectat la presència de rates (Rattus rattus), la productivitat total (0,73) es situa dintre dels valors normals de la Mediterrània occidental. [eng] Breeding parameters of Cory's Shearwater (Calonectris diomedea) br the island of Menorca. During 1994 a survey was carried out on the breeding biology of the most important colony of Cory's Shearwater in the island of Menorca.The main breeding parameters are very similar to those of other colonies of this species all over the Mediten-anean, and indicate a great synchronism with all of them. The main average values obtained have been: laying date, 24th of May; incubation, 52,6 days; hatching date, l7th of July; first abandoning of chicks, 3,9 days; fledging of chicks, 901 to 15th of October. No replacement layings have been found. Hatching rate has been estimated at 86,7 %. Interruptions in incubation llave been unfrequent. Although the presence of Rats (Rattus mutis) has been established, the overall productivity (0,73) is within its normal range in Western Mediterranean.
