The ethnographic and archaeological records of the Canadian Arctic provide an unusual opportunity to learn about the nature of childhood among hunter-gatherers of the prehistoric period. This paper summarises the relevant ethnographic information and reviews the archaeological approaches that have been attempted so far, and explores new avenues of research into this interesting topic. El registro etnográfico y arqueológico de la zona ártica del Canadá nos ofrece una oportunidad única de comprender la naturaleza de la infancia entre los cazadores recolectores de época prehistórica. Este texto resume la información etnográfica relevante y revisa los datos arqueológicos que han sido analizados hasta el momento para explorar nuevos caminos de investigación en este relevante tema.
