It is demonstrated how the structural response can be used for (indirectly) estimating the magnitudeoftheloadscausedbywavebreaking. Thetheoryisapplied toanexperimentalsetupinawaveflume,whereaflexiblemodel is subjected to loads from breaking waves. The dynamic propertiesaremappedusingoperationalmodalanalysisanditisconsequentlyshownthattheloadscanbeidentifiedusingthevibration measurements.
