LIGHT CATCHER / VALONTARHAAJA (2019) There are several reasons to catch the light. Through the ages humans have put animals under their aesthetic gaze. Like flowers into a vase. Humans admire animals, adorn themselves with animals, identify with and project their feelings on animals, make animals their best friends. The life and death are explained through animals. The life in itself is maintained with animals. There are several reasons to catch the light, several reasons to catch a life. An artistic dialogue on De-Arctification to celebrate 30 years of the Artists’ Association of Lapland. Wiping the Ice-Cream Off your Face’ is an art exhibition involving a dialogue between invited artists from the Nordic countries and a selection of artists from the Artists’ Association of Lapland, on the theme of De-Arctification.
