Com base em 17 estações meteorológicas automáticas distribuídas em diferentes sub-regiões nas ilhas Shetland do Sul, e na Península Antártica Oriental e Ocidental (PA), este estudo tem por objetivo investigar possíveis alterações das características climatológicas. Os dados mensais observados computados em médias de três meses são aplicados a séries temporais de temperatura e componentes de vento zonal e meridional. Verificou-se que as ilhas Shetland do Sul, as estações meteorológicas de Bellingshausen e Jubany tiveram um aumento de temperatura de 0,8 0C e 1 0C durante o período, mas nenhuma alteração significativa na velocidade do vento. No entanto, as outras 15 estações meteorológicas apresentam mudanças na temperatura e ventos. Na parte oriental da PA, as temperaturas positivas são evidentes: o aquecimento de 1,7 °C foi observado na estação meteorológica Esperanza ao longo de 56 anos, com variações de velocidade de vento zonal e meridional. No lado oeste da AP, há um aumento de temperatura em todas as estações, em particular na estação de Faraday, onde a temperatura média aumentou 3.2 0C em 63 anos. Pesquisas prévias mostram a influência que a Oscilação Antártica exerce sobre temperatura na Antártica. As componentes de vento de zona e meridional apresentam variações de alguns m/s nessas estações. |
