This was painted using Microsoft Word then screen printed on board by Omicron, Canterbury. To accompany it was a sound item made of beluga whales to be listened to by headphones whilst watching the painting. Sound stretching was used together with phased stacking. The sounds themselves are natural beluga noises, even the coughing and believed to be mating calls which can transmit over ten miles. The tea sipping at the end is human. The beluga sounds are considered to be music and as such eco soundart. It is a sustainability plea for appreciation of the natural world and in this instance our cousins in the sea. The images are of the exhibits, painting and headphones with sounds, in the exhibition.
