Instrumental climate data does not extend back beyond the period where humanity started to affect climate. Climate reconstructions of the present interglacial (the Holocene) are thus very important. The North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) represents a climate mode, which affects large parts of northern hemisphere winter climate. In this thesis a Holocene climate reconstruction based on aragonitic speleothems from a key NAO region (NW Morocco) is presented. It is demonstrated that the NAO has shown considerable natural variability through the Holocene. The melting and presence of the Laurentide ice sheet during the Early Holocene had a large impact on NAO rainfall teleconnection patterns. The predicted melting of the Greenland ice sheet might affect the NAO. Um heutige klimatische Veränderungen in einen Kontext mit natürlichen Schwankungen zu setzen, müssen diese Schwankungen bestimmt werden. Die Klimadatenerfassung reicht nur bis in die Zeit zurück in der die Menschheit begann das Klima zu beeinflussen. Daher sind Klimarekonstruktionen des derzeitigen Interglazials (Holozän) besonders wichtig. Die Nordatlantische Oszillation (NAO) repräsentiert einen Klimamodus, welcher das Winterklima in weiten Teilen der nördlichen Hemisphäre beeinflusst. Diese Doktorarbeit fokussiert auf Holozäne Klimarekonstruktionen anhand von aragonitischen Speläothemen von einer NAO beeinflussten Region (NW Marokko). NAO zeigt eine erhebliche natürliche Variabilität während des Holozäns. Das Abschmelzen und die Präsenz des Laurentidischen Eisschildes während des Frühen Holozäns hatten einen starken Einfluss auf die NAO, welche dadurch Niederschlagsmuster veränderte. Das vorhergesagte Abschmelzen des Grönländischen Eisschildes könnte einen Einfluss auf NAO haben.
