Mit Hilfe dieser Methoden konnte ich die Hypothese stützen, dass Streifgebiete von Wölfen durch hohe Beutedichten und geringe anthropogene Einflüsse gekennzeichnet sind. Über Mikrosatellitenanalysen konnte ich des Weiteren zeigen, dass Hauptstraßen keine unüberwindbare Barriere für den genetischen Austausch darstellen. Stresshormonanalysen deckten jedoch auf, dass Wölfe in stärker anthropogen genutzten Gebieten auch signifikant stärker gestresst sind, was langfristig zur Schwächung einer Population führen kann. Schließlich zeigte ich über die Entwicklung von Modellen und eine anschließende Habitateignungsanalyse potentielle Wolfsgebiete, sowie Risikogebiete für Mensch-Wolf-Konflikte innerhalb Deutschlands auf.
