The climate change is being caused by an increase in the greenhouse gases and this has disturbed the natural balance. These greenhouse gases are causing the rapid retreat of the ice in the Arctic region. This spells both bad news and good news. The bad news is of course obvious that the retreating ice can cause drastic changes to the local habitats and also the world. The good news is that the retreating sea ice, has given hope of shipping in the Arctic region. It has also given the opportunity to explore the vast resources buried deep in the Arctic region.
