The specimens from Russian Karelia were reared from pupae, which almost certainly originated from the larvae of Pytho depressus (Coleoptera, Pythidae). No parasitic hymenopterans have previously been recorded from the family Pythidae. The genus Meteorus includes several species yet to be found from Finland.
