Le cinquième volume d’études consacrées aux Bretagnes médiévales a pour thème principal la marginalité, notion dont les différents aspects (spatial, social, culturel) suscitent depuis un certain temps un foisonnement de recherches et que la situation géographique des régions celtiques rend incontournable lorsqu’on se propose d’explorer leur spécificité. Comme l’expliquent les directrices du recueil dans l’introduction, ce thème fait écho à l’image romantique des terres celtiques comme isolées. The fifth volume of studies on medieval Bretagnes focuses on marginality, a concept whose various aspects (spatial, social, cultural) have for some time given rise to a proliferation of research and the geographical location of the Celtic regions makes it essential to explore their specific characteristics. As the Compendium’s guidelines explain in the introduction, this theme echoes the romantic image of both Celtic and isolated land.
