Développer la formation continue dans le cadre du LMD : un travail sur les représentations

The social representation theory holds that the social constructs of groups have an influence on their social practices. The research in question applied this theory to a specific social object: lifelong learning and, in particular, continuous education in the context of the European reform of the Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees. Do the social representations of professors exert an influence on their activities within the domain of continuous education? Are these representations predictive of the development of lifelong learning? The results showed that social representations exert an influence on motivation and on the intention to teach continuous education courses, as well as a link between this intent and a positive opinion regarding continuous education within the framework of the said reform. La théorie des représentations sociales suppose que les constructions sociales de la réalité véhiculées par les groupes influencent les pratiques sociales. Dans cette étude nous avons voulu identifier ce lien entre représentations et pratiques en l’appliquant à la formation continue : les représentations sociales des enseignants et particulièrement des enseignants-chercheurs influencent-elles leur pratique en formation continue, et sont-elles prédictives d’un développement dans le cadre de la réforme du L.M.D. (Licence, Master, Doctorat) ? Les résultats montrent une influence des représentations sur la motivation et sur l’intention d’engagement, ainsi qu’un lien favorable entre l’engagement et l’opinion favorable concernant la formation continue dans le L.M.D.
