Sedna, la mère de la mer est l’une des figures les plus répandues dans les communautés inuites : on la trouve aussi bien en Sibérie, qu’au Groenland et qu’en Amérique du Nord. Elle vit au fond des mers, où elle contrôle le destin des communautés par son implication sur la pêche. Évoluant dans les fonds marins, elle apparaît tel un esprit vengeur ou protecteur au gré de ses humeurs.
