Nous sommes en 1979. Le livre s’ouvre sur la chute d’un corps dans un des gigantesques hangars de la base américaine de Keflavík. Peu après, une femme découvre dans le lac qui deviendra par la suite le célèbre Blue Lagoon (où elle est venue tenter de soulager son psoriasis) le corps d’un homme d’une trentaine d’années présentant de multiples fractures.
