Un diagnostic situé à Caen, au 21 rue Daniel-Huet, a été prescrit par l’État sur une emprise de 5 656 m2 préalablement au projet de construction par Cirmad Prospectives d’un immeuble d’habitation dénommé « l’îlot Saint-Martin ». Cette opération a été suivie d’une fouille de 2 000 m2 concentrée sur le « fort des Jacobins » également nommé dans les sources textuelles « fort de la Cercle ». Selon les données archivistiques, le fort est construit entre 1595 et 1620 sur l’emplacement d’une parcell. A diagnosis at Caen, 21 Daniel-Huet Street, was prescribed by the State on a 5 656 m² footprint prior to the planned construction by Cirmad Prospectives of a residential building known as ‘the Saint-Martin island’, followed by a search of 2 000 m² concentrated on the ‘fort des Jacobins’ also referred to in the textual sources ‘strong de la Cercle’. According to archiving data, the strong is built between 1595 and 1620 on the location of a parcell.
