La place du donjon fait partie de ce quartier d’habitation, « Terranova », loti dans le dernier quart du xve s. afin d’asseoir les fondations du gouvernement génois. À ce titre, elle occupe une position privilégiée au cœur du noyau primitif de la Ville de Bastia :au sud du palais des gouverneurs – à l’emplacement du castello primitif éponyme « la bastia » – et à l’est du palais des Nobles Douze. Sur la surface explorée, de l’ordre de 200 m2, trois ensembles de vestiges ont été identifiés imm. The donjon square is part of this residential area, ‘Terranova’, loti in the last quarter of the xve. In order to underpin the foundations of the genis government, it occupies a privileged position at the heart of the primitive core of the city of Bastia: south of the governors’ palace – in the position of the primitive castello ‘la Bastia’ – and in the east of the Twelve Palace. On the surface surveyed, in the order of 200 m², three sets of remnants have been identified imm.
