Summary:This article discusses the operation of Norwegian libraries on the example of the National Library in Oslo, the Bergen University Library, and the Stavanger Public Library. A modern building of the Public Library in Vennesla is presented. Norwegian librarianship issues (librarians’ education, librarians’ associations, interlibrary loan, reading), as well as the Doomsday Library project are discussed.
