The structure, goals and the programme of adult education for immigrants have been analysed. One of the courses - The School of Settlers - has been scrutinised in more detail. Pedagogy of place is the theoretical framework for the analysis. The paper shows different traditions and ways of understanding this concept, as well as its relation to education for immigrants. One of the conclusions is that the non-formal education for adult immigrants in Iceland reflects some principles of the pedagogy of place, but to a limited extent. Moreover, there seems to be a problem with the small number of courses available in other languages than Icelandic. Article in Journal/Newspaper Iceland Unknown
