Quoi de plus naturel que les continents ? Qu’y a-t-il de plus incontestable que le partage du monde selon le schéma : Afrique, Amérique, Asie, Europe et Océanie ? Pourtant, la simplicité même de ce schéma pose problème. S’il correspond à la conception française, il ne s’accorde par contre pas à la conception anglo-saxonne qui divise l’Amérique en deux et ajoute l’Antarctique à la liste. D’autres polémiques remettent en cause l’évidence de la division du monde en continents : l’île de la Réuni. What is more natural than continents? What is more indisputable than the sharing of the world along the lines of: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania? However, the very simplicity of this scheme is problematic. Although it corresponds to the French design, it does not agree with the Anglo-Saxon design which divides America into two and adds Antarctic to the list. Other controversy call into question the evidence of the division of the world into continents: the island of Reuni.
