Identification du Moedi dans l'Est de la France

A chronic progressive pneumonia has been identified recently on sheep in the East of France (Moselle). It appeared simultaneously with the importation of Texel sheep from Holland. The study of symptoms and lesions, the finding of specific antibodies in sheep sera allow to set up the diagnosis of «Zwoegerziekte » or «Maedi», described for the first time in Iceland, in 1948. Une pneumonie progressive chronique du mouton a été récemment identifiée dans le département de la Moselle. Son apparition a coïncidé avec l'introduction de moutons de race Texel provenant de Hollande. L’étude des symptômes et des lésions, la recherche des anticorps dans le sérum des moutons a permis de l’identifier à la «Zwoegerziekte» ou «Maedi» décrite pour la première fois, en Islande, en 1948.
