Central Kamchatka is the dwelling-place of a group that raises reindeer and has had few contacts with outsiders. The Evens (Lamuts) formed an ethnic enclave till into the 1940s. The collection in 2004 of accounts about the native population of Bystrinskij and of relevant anthropological and demographic data helps us better understand the recent history of this area in the Russian Far East that was off limits to foreigners till into the 1990s. Mainly focused on the small settlement of Anavgaj, classified as a “national Even village”, this article présents some aspects the consequences of Soviet and post-Soviet policies on Russia's ethnic minorities. Le Kamtchatka central est l’habitat d’un groupe d’éleveurs de rennes évènes longtemps resté à l’écart de contacts extérieurs et ayant constitué une enclave ethnique jusque dans les années 1940. Le recueil, en 2004, de témoignages et de données anthropo- démographiques sur la population autochtone de Bystrinskij permet de mieux connaître l’histoire récente de cette région de l’Extrême-Orient russe demeurée interdite aux étrangers jusqu’en 1990. Principalement centrée sur la petite agglomération d’Anavgaj, qui porte l’appellation de « village national évène », cette étude présente un aspect des conséquences des politiques soviétiques et postsoviétiques sur les minorités ethniques de Russie.
