Created in 1909, Skrúður garden in Núpur (Dýrafjörður, Iceland), an exceptional location reported by the XIVth edition of the Premio Internazionale Carlo Scarpa per il Giardino awarded by the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche (Treviso, Italy), calls for thought to be given to the history of the forest in Iceland, from the time of colonisation to today, and more broadly to the current challenges of global deforestation and local initiatives against desertification and in favour of reforestation.
