`titre traitementparticulier="non"bAbstract`/titreb Values, Interests and Influence of the Latvian Foreign PolicyWith regards as its membership to the international organizations, to the European Union and North Atlantic Alliance Organization, the two goals set by Latvia have been successfully achieved. Those achievements mark an important period in the development of the country, reaching a level of security that has never happened in the past. Latvia can develop economically, now that common threats against the security of the State are almost non-existent. Among others, this context is beneficial to elaborate a more complex and better-grounded Latvia's foreign policy. Its main goals in matter of foreign policy for the five years to come are the reinforcement of what has been achieved and of the influence on the international scene, in order to promote its own values and interests. Les objectifs de la Lettonie concernant son adhésion aux organisations internationales, ainsi qu'à l'Union européenne (UE) et à l'Organisation du traité de l'Atlantique Nord (OTAN), ont été remplis. Ces succès marquent une période importante dans le développement du pays, atteignant un niveau de sécurité dont il n'a encore jamais bénéficié auparavant. La Lettonie peut désormais se développer économiquement, alors que les menaces classiques envers la sécurité de l'État sont très faibles. Ce contexte favorise, par ailleurs, une politique étrangère de la Lettonie plus complexe et plus aboutie. Ses objectifs principaux en matière de politique étrangère pour les cinq ans à venir sont la consolidation de ce qui a été réalisé ainsi que le renforcement de son influence sur la scène internationale, afin de mieux favoriser ses valeurs et ses intérêts.
