Väestön ikääntyminen luo haasteita terveydenhuollolle, koska terveyspalvelujen tarve ja sairastavuus lisääntyvät iän myötä. Sähköiset palvelut ovat yksi osa tulevaisuuden sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen kokonaisuutta, ja verkkoasioinnin tarve kasvaa koko ajan. Suomi ei selviä lisääntyvästä sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen kysynnästä ilman tieto- ja viestintätekniikan hyödyntämistä. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli saada ikäihmiset käyttämään itsenäisesti Medinet-palvelua, joka tukee heidän omahoitoaan. Opinnäytetyön tehtävänä oli luoda opas, joka helpottaa ikäihmisten Medinet-palvelun käyttöä. Palvelun käyttö vähentää asiointia terveyskeskuksissa paikan päällä ja puhelimessa. Opasta voivat hyödyntää myös terveydenhuollon ammattilaiset asiakkaiden ohjauksessa. Oppaasta haluttiin mahdollisimman asiakaslähtöinen, joten oppaan suunnittelussa ja toteutuksessa tehtiin yhteistyötä Joen Severi ry:n kanssa, joka on vapaaehtoiseen toimintaan perustuva sitoutumaton atk-yhdistys senioreille. Tämä toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö on tehty toimeksiantona Joensuun kaupungille. Toimeksianto opinnäytetyöhön saatiin alun perin Pohjois-Karjalan kansanterveyden keskukselta, josta myös idea opinnäytetyön aiheesta on tullut. Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa käsitellään itsehoitoa, omahoitoa, sähköisiä terveyspalveluja ja asiakaslähtöisyyttä. Lisäksi teoriaosuudessa on kerrottu, kuinka Medinet-käyttöopas on toteutettu. Jatkokehittämismahdollisuutena tälle opinnäytetyölle voisi olla sähköisen opetusvideon ja käyttöoppaan tulostettavan version sekä Medinet-palvelun testitunnuksien laatiminen. The aging of population creates challenges to the public health care, because the need for health care services and morbidity increase with age. Electric services are one part of the future totality of social and health care services and the need of running errands on the net grows all the time. Finland will not survive the increasing demand of social and health care services without the utilization of information and communication technology. The purpose of this thesis was to get elderly persons to independently use the Medinet-service which supports their self-management. The function of the thesis was to create a guide that makes it easier for the elderly persons to use the Medinet-service. Using the service decreases running errands at health care centers and on the phone. Health care professionals can benefit from the guide in the guidance of customers. The guide was aimed to be as customer-oriented as possible, so planning and implementation of the guide was collaborated with Joen Severi ry, which is a voluntary based, independent ADP-association for senior citizens. This functional thesis has been made as a commission for Joensuu city. The original commission was received from North Karelia Center for Public Health, where the idea of the thesis originates. The theory part of the thesis deals with self-care, self-management, electric health care services and customer oriented approach. In addition, the theory part describes how the Medinet-guide has been realized. Possible further developments could include an electronic educational video, a printable version of the guide and creation of test usernames to Medinet-service.
