| Summary: | Opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli valmistaa saattohoito-opas Rovaniemen kaupungin kotisairaalan yksikköön. Tavoitteena on tukea saattohoitoa toteuttavien henkilöiden ammattitaitoa, jotta potilaat saisivat mahdollisimman laadukasta ja tarkoituksenmukaista hoitoa. Oppaan avulla on mahdollista yhtenäistää saattohoitokäytäntöjä ja siten parantaa hoitotyön laatua Rovaniemen kaupungin kotisairaalassa ja palvelutaloissa. Opinnäytetyö on toiminnallinen ja prosessin tuloksena on opas sekä raporttiosuus. Kirjalliseen raporttiin sisältyy teoriaosuus, kuvaus oppaan tuotteistamisprosessista sekä uusinta tutkittua ja ajankohtaista tietoa saattohoidosta. Työ pohjautuu sosiaali- ja terveysministeriön 2010 laatimiin saattohoitosuosituksiin, joiden tarkoituksena on tehdä saattohoidosta suunnitelmallisempaa sekä ohjata saattohoidon käytäntöjä koko maassa. Kirjallisessa raportissa käsitellään kotisairaalan roolia osana saattohoitoa kodinomaisessa ympäristössä, joka käsittää palvelutalot. Työhön sisältyy suositukset, lait ja eettiset ohjeet, jotka ohjaavat ammattihenkilöstöä toteuttamaan laadukasta saattohoitoa. Raportissa käydään läpi kuolevan potilaan hoitolinjaukset, oireenmukaiset hoitotyön auttamismenetelmät ja ohjeistusta kuoleman kohdatessa. Saattohoito-opas on toteutettu tuotekehitysprosessin mukaisesti. Opas on painatettu kirjallisena vihkomuodossa sekä annettu sähköisenä versiona kotisairaalan hoitohenkilökunnalle. The objective was to foster the professional skills of the persons who carry out end-of-life care so that the care that the terminally ill patients get would be of as high quality and appropriate as possible. Whit the guide`s help it is possible to unify the end-of-life care practices and thus it improves the quality of the nursing of the town of Rovaniemi in home hospital and service houses. The written report includes a theory part, a description of the making process of the guide, a marketable product and the newest examined and current information about end-of-life care. The thesis is based on the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health 2010 recommendations to make the end-of-life care more systematic and directed in the whole of Finland. In the written report the role of the home hospital as a part of the end-of-life care is dealt with. This comprises the hospis environment and the assisted living facilities. The work includes the recommendations, laws and ethical instructions which direct professional staff to carry out high-quality end-of-life care. In the report the dying patient's care recommendations, the symptomatic helping methods nursing and the guidelines for encountering patient are dealt with. End-of-life care guide has been made according to a product development process. The guide has been printed in a book form and it has been given to the nursing staff of the home hospital as an electronic version.
