| Summary: | Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena on selvittää Lapin maatiloilla asuvien bioenergiatietoutta ja bioenergiatiedon tarpeita. Työn tilaaja on BIOWAY-tiedonvälityshanke, joka tiedottaa Lapin bioenergiaohjelmasta 2009–2013 ja sen alaisista hankkeista. Opinnäytetyön keskeisiä tutkimusongelmia ovat Lapin maatiloilla asuvien tämänhetkinen tietotaso ja tiedon tarpeet bioenergia-alasta. Miten tiedonvälitystä, koulutusta ja neuvontaa tulee antaa kohderyhmille? Millainen on BIOWAY-tiedonvälityshankkeen tunnettuus? Tutkimus toteutettiin kyselytutkimuksena. Kyselyitä lähetettiin 448 lappilaiselle maatilalle, joiden yhteystiedot saatiin tutkimuskäyttöön MTK-Lapin osoiterekisteristä. Mukana tutkimuksessa olivat kaikki Lapin läänin kunnat lukuun ottamatta Enontekiötä, Kemiä ja Utsjokea. Kyselyn vastausprosentti oli 31. Aineistoa käsiteltiin SPSS-tilasto-ohjelmalla, jolla laskettiin keskiarvot, frekvenssit, ristiintaulukoinnit ja merkitsevyystestit. Bioenergia on uusi ja innovatiivisuudelle perustuva ala, jolla tarvitaan neuvontaa ja koulutusta. Tämän tutkimuksen mukaan tiedonvälitystä, neuvontaa ja koulutusta tulee tarjota monipuolisesti. Lapin maatiloilla asuvien bioenergiatietous vaihtelee bioenergiamuodosta riippuen. Puunkäyttö energianlähteenä on paremmin tunnettua kuin muut bioenergiamuodot. Bioenergiaan liittyviä termejä ei tunneta hyvin, ja termit menevät osin sekaisin. Lapin maatiloilla bioenergiaa pidetään mahdollisena lisätulon lähteenä ja sen kehittymiseen uskotaan. BIOWAY-tiedonvälityshanke ei ole toistaiseksi saavuttanut kovin suurta tunnettuutta tämän tutkimuksen vastaajien keskuudessa. Tiedonvälitystä, koulutusta ja neuvontaa kehittämällä voidaan parantaa Lapin maatilojen bioenergiatietoutta. Lappilaiset maatilat ovat keskeisessä asemassa bioenergia-raaka-aineiden tuottajina, koska niillä on paljon metsä- ja peltoresursseja, joita voidaan hyödyntää bioenergian tuotannossa. Lisääntyvän bioenergian käytön ja tuotannon avulla voidaan vastata Euroopan Unionin asettamiin päästövähennysvelvoitteisiin sekä pitää maaseutu elinvoimaisena. The purpose of the thesis is to find out the level and needs of bioenergy knowledge on Lappish farms. The thesis has been made in co-operation with the BIOWAY-information dissemination project which gives information about Lapland bioenergy program 2009–2013 and projects under it. The research was conducted as a postal survey. The questionnaire was sent to 448 farmers in Lapland province, whose contact address were received from The Lapland Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners. All municipalities of Lapland took part in the research, except Enontekiö, Kemi and Utsjoki. The response rate was 31 percent and the answers were analyzed with the SPSS program, which was used to calculate means, frequencies, cross tabulations and X²-tests. The essential research problems are the following: 1) What is the present level of bioenergy knowledge? 2) How should communication, education and business services be provided to target groups? 3) Knowledge of the BIOWAY-information dissemination project. The field of bioenergy is new and innovative and business services and education are needed. According to the results, communication, advice and education should be provided diversely. Bioenergy knowledge on Lappish farms varies depending on the form of the bioenergy. Use of wood as an energy source is known better than other bioenergy forms. Some terms related to bioenergy are not known and they may be confused with different terms. Bioenergy is seen as a source of extra income on Lappish farms and they believe in its development. Among target group of this research the BIOWAY-information dissemination project has not received a lot of known so far. Bioenergy knowledge on Lappish farms can be improved by development of advice and education. Lappish farms are in a central position as a producer of bioenergy raw material, because they own a lot of forest and field resources, which can be utilized in the production of bioenergy. With help of increasing use and production of bioenergy, can be responded to European Union obligations concerning emissions. The Finnish countryside can also be kept alive.
