Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli toteuttaa nuortenleiri Sodankylän seurakunnan nuorille, sekä lisätä luonto- ja ympäristötietoisuutta seurakunnan toiminnassa. Käytännön osuutena järjestettiin nuortenleiri marraskuussa 2018 Sodankylän seurakunnan leirikeskuksessa. Leirin teemoihin kuului ihmisoikeudet, tasa-arvo ja ihmisten luontosuhde. Leirin yhtenä tarkoituksena oli myös osallistaa nuoria mahdollisimman paljon. Opinnäytetyö on hankkeistettu Sodankylän seurakunnalle. Opinnäytetyöhön liittyi myös kysely, joka teetettiin leirillä mukana olleille nuorille heidän ajatuksis-taan liittyen ympäristöön, luontoon ja muihin ihmisiin. Kyselystä saatuja vastauksia käytettiin työn tulososassa. Työssä tarkastellaan ympäristöä kasvatuksen näkökulmasta ja ympäristön vaikutusta ihmisen hyvinvointiin. Lisäksi työssä käsitellään teemoja seurakunnan näkökulmasta. The purpose of this thesis was to arrange a youth camp for the youth of the parish of Sodankylä, and increasethe knowledge of nature and environment at parishaction. As a practical part there was a youth camp in November 2018 at the camping center of the parish of Sodankylä. The themes of the camp were about human rights, equality and the relationship between a human being and the nature. One purpose of the camp was to involve youth as much as possible.This thesis was commissioned by the parish of Sodankylä. The practical part of this thesis included also an inquiry for the youth who were at the camp about their own thoughts of environment, nature and other people of this globe. The replies of that inquiry were used at the theoretical part of this thesis. The theoretical part discusses environment and what that term includes. In addition environment is viewed from the education perspective and environmental impact on well-beingis discussed. In addi-tion environmental themesare discussed from the parish perspective. The thesis examines the environment from the point of view of education and enviromental impact of human’s well-being. In addition, the thesis has a parishes perspective of themes.
