Vihreä hoiva eli Green Care perustuu ajatukseen luonnon ja eläinten hyödyntämisestä hoivatyössä ja erilaisissa terapiamuodoissa. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli luoda malli, joka kokoaa yhteen erilaisia vihreän hoivan menetelmiä, helpottaa niiden löytämistä ja antaa ideoita niiden käyttöön ottamisessa. Työ tehtiin Green Care-GREEN KARELIA-hankkeelle, joka on ProAgria Pohjois-Karjalan, Karelia ammattikorkeakoulun ja Maa- ja kotitalousnaisten toteuttama hanke. Sen tarkoituksena on kehittää pohjoiskarjalaista, luontolähtöistä hyvinvointiyrittäjyyttä sekä lisätä Green Caren tunnettuutta paitsi alueen yrittäjien, myös valtakunnallisesti suuren yleisön keskuudessa. Kohderyhmänä ovat kaikki hoito- ja terapiatyötä tekevät, mutta työ on tehty ikäihmisten hoivakotitoiminnan näkökulmasta. Lähtökohtana oli, että tällä hetkellä ei ole olemassa sellaista digitaalista tahoa, josta löytyisi kootusti erilaisia Green Caren toteutustapoja ja kattaisi eläinavusteiset menetelmät, puutarhaterapian ja muut luontokokemukset. Tavoitteena oli siis luoda tällainen yhteenveto, ja se päätettiin toteuttaa internetsivujen muodossa. Teoreettinen viitekehys rakentui yleiseen Green Care-tietoperustaan sekä kuvaamiseen alan toiminnasta Suomessa. Teoriaperustassa käsitellään myös luonnon positiivisia vaikutuksia terveyteen, kuntoutumiseen ja hyvinvointiin sekä ikääntyneiden toimintakykyä ja siihen vaikuttavia tekijöitä. Teoreettinen viitekehys toteutettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Opinnäytetyön tulos eli Green Care-mallin internetsivut ovat työn toiminnallinen osuus. Sivut teki ulkopuolinen ammattilainen, ja ne olivat omakustanteiset. Sivuille on koottu monipuolisesti esimerkkejä ja vinkkejä erilaisia toimintaympäristöjä varten. Sivustolla on myös linkkejä eri aihealueista. Sivujen www-osoite on www.greencaremalli.com, ja sivutila on käytössämme vuoden ajan. Opinnäytetyöprosessi oli pitkä ja vaativa, mutta myös antoisa. Lopputulos eli mallin sivut ovat onnistuneet; informaationtäyteiset sekä esteettisesti kauniit. Kirjallisuuskatsauksen johtopäätöksenä on, että vihreä hoiva on edelleen kehittymässä oleva toimiala niin Suomessa kuin maailmalla, jossa sillä on pidemmät perinteet. Green Care saattaa myös olla sisällöltään hyvinkin erilaista eri maissa. Ideologia sopii kuitenkin hyvin Suomeen, ja lisää tutkimusta ja käytänteiden sekä käsitteiden yhtenäistämistä tarvitaan. Lisäksi aihealue oli hyvin laaja, ja jatkokehitysehdotuksia löytyi runsaasti. Opinnäytetyöstä voisi työstää esimerkiksi Laurea Ammattikorkeakoulu Hyvinkäällä pidettävän seminaarin, johon kutsuttaisiin hoiva-alan edustajia. Vihreän hoivan tunnetuksi tekeminen ja käytänteiden kehittäminen on pitkä prosessi, josta riittää opinnäyte- ja tutkimustyön aiheita runsaasti tulevaisuudessa. Green Care is based on the idea of utilizing nature and animals in health care and various forms of therapy. The aim of the thesis was to create a model that brings together different methods of green care, facilitates their discovery and provides ideas for their introduction. The work was carried out for the Green Care-GREEN KARELIA project, which is a project implemented by ProAgria North Karelia, Karelia Polytechnic and the Rural Women’s Advisory Organization. Its purpose is to develop nature-based welfare entrepreneurship in the North Karelia region, and to raise awareness of Green Care in the region as well as nationwide. The target group is all those who are in the field of nature-based therapeutic work, but the emphasis is on the nursing homes for elderly people. The starting point was that currently, there is no general digital summary of different Green Care implementations, covering animal-assisted methods, garden therapy and other nature experiences. The aim was to sum up these different methods of Green Care in an easily accessible form. The theoretical framework was based on the general Green Care research and the description of Green Care activities in Finland. The theoretical basis also dealt with the positive health effects of; nature, rehabilitation, well-being, and the ability of the elderly to function and the factors that affect it. The theoretical framework was implemented as a literature review. The outcome of the thesis, the Green Care model website, is the practical part of the work. The pages were made by a professional website designer, and they were self-financed. Various examples and tips for different operating environments are provided. The site also has links to various topics. The website's web address is www.greencaremalli.com, and the web space is available for one year. The thesis process was long and demanding, but also rewarding. The outcome, (the Green Care model website), has been successfully completed. It is information-rich and aesthetically beautiful. The conclusion of the literature review is that green nursing is still an emerging industry in Finland and worldwide, even though it has longer traditions abroad, especially in Europe. The concept of Green Care may also be very different in content in different countries. However, this ideology is well suited to Finland, and more research and the harmonization of practices and concepts are needed. In addition, this topic was very wide, and further development proposals were found.
